The Right Honorable Chevalier Sir Dr. Charles W. Swan
The Religious and Military Order Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem
Charles W. Swan was accolade into Knighthood in the Year of our Lord June 2000. Knights must have good moral character and spiritual insight; are productive members of their community; have an enduring interest in and practice of traditional chivalric virtues; have achieved success in their respective careers. The Order acknowledges the following ascending scale of established artistocratic precedence: countryman, page/damosel, squire/damsel, Knight, Baron, Viscount, Count, Marquis, Duke, Royal Duke, Prince, Sovereign Prince, King, and Emperor. Conferment of Knighthood in and admission to The Religious and Military Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, in and of itself, is a mark of distinction that raises one to the rank, dignity, and estate of Knighthood. The Religious and Military Order of Knights of The Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem The great devotion of Christians to the Holy Sepulchre has resulted in the founding of various Sepulchre Orders honoring the military valor of the Knights of old who defended Jerusalem and the Holy Sepulchre against their adversaries. Veneration of the Sacred Tomb of Christ dates back to ancient Christians who regarded the Sepulchre as the holiest of all holy places because the greatest of all great miracles occurred there-the conquering of death by Our Lord Jesus Christ. According to Tradition, St. James the Lesser, an Apostle and the first Bishop of Jerusalem established the first guards for the Holy Sepulchre. Historians commonly hold that Emperor Constantine the Great founded the first Sepulchre brotherhood after his mother, Helena, discovered the Holy Cross in her archaeological diggings in Jerusalem in 325 A.D. In celebration, the Emperor Constantine built a great Church on the site where Christ had been buried. The Church survives to this day. Some prominent Knights includes Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, Norman Schwarzkopf, Colin Powell, George Bush, Ronald Reagan, Muhammed Ali, Caspar Weinberger, John Paul Getty, Andre Previn, Count Lloyd Douglas, Alfred Welsh, Tom Foley, Peter Falk Charleston Heston, Admiral Leighton W. Smith, Mrs. Montalban and Richard Montalban, Roy and Mrs. Roy Disney. The Swan Film Institute presented by Swan and Associates
